I knew I needed appropriately awesome, yet obnoxious headwear for the rain As I have been transitioning fully into Weird-Dadhood in the Pacific Northwest, I knew I needed appropriately awesome, yet obnoxious headwear for the rain. The Seattle Sombrero is perfect for winter rainy weather in WA state. I do not get too hot wearing it, despite the lightly insulated cap. It’s absolutely waterproof as I can attest to after walking a good distance wearing this hat and a Carhartt Storm Defender coat. All in all, for hikers, camping enthusiasts, or weird PNW dads like me – this is a great choice.P.S. – My wife hates it, which endears me to it more.

I Finally Found Exactly What I’ve Been Looking For I have been looking a long time for an attractive, waterproof, foldable rain hat. I went to the Outdoor Research Website to figure out my size, and according to my crown measurement (22″) I bought the Small. It fits very snugly–not a problem but the next time, I’ll try the medium.I love that it ha s a ‘lariat’ tie instead of two pieces to tie in a knot. When the rain stops and I want to hang it behind my head, I don’t get choked.
