TIMES HAVE CHANGED I used to have a Kangol cap in the “old days”. Worn backwards, it was perceived as artsy and “cool”. It also looked good on me. I thought, this winter, I would try another, just to trade off my beanies in the snow. Problem is, the sizing was smaller than expected. The back of the cap, too, fits higher and differently than the old model. The material is wool and the production is quality, but it is a pricey mistake on my part. Be aware.

Kangol 507, still there. Despite comments about oversizing, this cap fit me as expected, XL for a 7 5/8 hat-size. It is softer than the old Brit-made 507, which was quite “rigid”. Not bad, just different. Warmest Kangols IMHO have 1) thickest wool and 2) most airspace under cap, e.g. Spitfire and Greek Fisherman, both of which get 5 Stars from me.

Typical Kangol quality. The Kangol 507 has a more tailored fit than the typical “flat hat” style, and is more curved around the back and over the top. I prefer this more tailored style, which is quite good looking. Next day delivery was extraordinary.
