Practical and affordable common sense rain protection. I randomly discovered this brand while looking through the rainwear section of my local Bass Pro Shop. I didn’t purchase anything at the time, but it sparked my interest. Later I spent time on the internet doing research on the company and product. To make a long story shorter, I now have an entire rain suit including pants, jacket, and bucket hat.Prior to newer technologies like Frogg Toggs, there was always a tradeoff with rainwear. Generally speaking, all rainwear could be divided into two main categories. There was waterproof, and water resistant/repellant. Waterproof was obviously the ideal. The problem was that anything waterproof had the downside of not breathing. It was therefore fine when you were stuck in a rain storm, but you didn’t want to wear it over the course of a day. It would get hot and uncomfortable and leave you gathering sweat. Water resistant/repellant products would breath and were better suited to wearing over longer periods. They were not however…

If you want to keep your head dry—buy this hat. Every year my son and I take a camping trip to the mountains for his vacation. Have had rain each time, and finally got tired of poncho hoods that either fall forward and block vision or slip off backwards, or trying to hold an umbrella while doing camp chores. So I came to Amazon and did a search for rain hats. Was rather startled by the results–most are pricey and only claim to be “resistant”, and most of them didn’t have tie-down cords to keep them on your head in the wind. Then found this Frogg Toggs hat. I was dubious when it claimed to be waterproof, especially since it was one of the least expensive. But decided to take a chance and ordered two, one for each of us. Well–wonder of wonders, it actually is waterproof !!. To test it I wore it in the shower with the shower head turned to “hard downpour” and my hair stayed completely dry !!
