What is the likelihood that a swine flu vaccine will be developed anytime soon?

I was just wondering, since I’ve heard a lot of people talking about scientists working on a vaccine for swine flu. How long will it take for a vaccine to be developed, though? How do you diagnose swine flu and what is the accuracy of the diagnosis?

I am a bit astounded that doctors in minor clinics in Nova Scotia can claim to have diagnosed swine flu in four high-school students. Are they using some form of test like the HIV western blot, or are they just looking at these people weezing and in light of the present hysteria, saying OH MY GOD! SWINE FLU!… Continue reading
