How do you relieve swine flu symptoms?
I was diagnosed with H1N1 swine flu, and am very much suffering right now. Does anyone know some remedies to alleviate pain? I’m on a pain killer regime but I can’t get my temperature below 40celcius (104 F). Also, the pain killers aren’t helping totally.
Any tips/tricks?

Hey Jessica,
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve got the flu..unfortunately your gonna feel pretty crappy for a bit.
When I got it, I used a generic version of Tamiflu, an antiviral that helped quite a bit. Antiviral drugs are prescription medicines (pills, liquid or an inhaler) that can be used for prevention or treatment of flu viruses. If you get sick, antiviral drugs can make your illness milder and make you feel better faster. Two types of antivirals, Oseltamivir (TAMIFLU®) and Zanamivir (RELENZA®) may be effective against the H1N1 (Swine) flu. The cheapest place I’ve found it so far is http://Tamiflu.info2here.com
Hope you feel better soon!
Well, all you can really do is take paracetamol to get your fever down (or open all the windows, turn on a fan and put cold towels on yourself, but I prefer Paracetamol =P )
If the painkillers aren’t working, then just try to go sleep. If you can’t get to sleep then try listening to music and most importantly not moving.
If it keeps getting worse then call NHS Direct/Your doctor/an Ambulance (depends where you live and how bad you’re feeling).
Sorry I can’t be of more help
Hope you feel better soon (or now, whichever works =P )
I have swine flu too. I take nurofen regularly, and also a tablet the doctor gave me to prevent nausea so I can eat a little. I try to drink lots but I know its hard when you’re feeling so bad. A shower does help, and you need to get lots of rest. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
I don’t think there are any tips or tricks except to keep clean and stay home. Take the usual Ibuprofen for fever/or your preference of pain meds and fever reducers. Drink plenty of fluids, water, Gatorade, jello, Popsicles. Drink tea and have chicken broth or some broths that seem to help. There isn’t any magic and you will have to ride out its coarse. Keep imodium for diarrhea and taking a shower daily. Gargle with warm salt water or peroxide and salt to kill bacteria in your mouth. Check with your doctor if you need any other help to get over the symptoms. Good Luck and hope you feel better soon.
