Hello, could someone confirm that in some ways Gordon Brown paid for his eagerness for power by resigning?
I am asking this because I was told that basically Blair had no reason to leave 10 Downing Street except the fact that before Blair came to power in 1998, he PROMISED Brown to leave him his seat after about a decade of power.
On the other hand, during the financial crisis, here in France many politicians praised Brown’s policy.
So, please, help have a real idea of who Gordon Brown is/was. Thanks.
@Liberal: do you mean that in fact Blair and Brown were ennemies?

Actually, Gordon Brown was nothing but an anti-Tony Blair reflex, and now Brits have come back to reality.
The liberal side of the coin must not have been impressive enough to keep it.
Brits were complete idiots to buy into the demonizing of Blair. He was partly responsible for setting world-wide terrorism back 20 years, and he deserves a lot of credit for that.
