3 days ago i met with a friends and yesterday he went to the hospital with high fever and feeling dizzy. the doctors said he has all the symptoms of swine flu and i was just wandering if i feel absolutely fine does that mean that i didn’t take the virus from him or does it take a couple of days for the symptoms to manifest?

So far, the swine flu seems no more dangerous than the seasonal flu. Yet everyone is supposed to be vaccinated. Why? If they’re worried about swine flu mutating into a more dangerous flu, wouldn’t the vaccines fail to protect against the mutated version anyway? So why should we get vaccinated against swine flu?

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and think that it’s possible that I could have been exposed to H1N1 or regular seasonal flu today when a young child proceeded to climb into my lap and cough into my face while he was visably sick and at the lab getting blood work done. If I go to my local ER will they prescribe me an antiviral even though I have no symptoms and don’t know what the child had as a preventitive measure since I’m in my third trimester?

Hey i am planning on going into the Northampton State Hospital in Massachusetts soon to take pictures, but they have signs around and on the buildings saying Asbestos, cancer, and lung disease. I am only going in for about an hour, but I don’t want to get contaminated. What would be the proper face-mask to wear? I was thinking about those ones the doctors use or the paper ones you can buy from home depot. Are these safe? I’d rather not go and buy a face mask.
Thanks
Thanks for the tip, I didnt think that amount of time would be bad… The place isn’t being worked on, it’s just sitting there empty so the asbestos fibers shouldn’t be disrupted.

How much of the Swine Flu virus can kill an individual? There were a number of people who can essentially die from the virus. What can it take to make even lesser failed attempts to cure someone affected by the Swine Flu virus?

Since the result of my biopsy and treatment, I have been going to the bathroom frequently. I was prescribed a pill called ‘harlan’ which has moderated the frequency but it is still painful and more frequent than I want. Can anyone help?. I don’t want to keep calling my doctor with what may appear to be minor issues.

Didn’t the swine flu originate in Mexico? Why are there many more cases here in the United States?
